Volunteers at Dorcas Ministries are a vital part of the operation of our organization. Volunteers contribute in numerous ways including but not limited to:
Sorting Through Donations
Pricing Donations
Stocking the Sales Floor
Operating the Checkout
Working in the Food Pantry
Working with our Crisis Ministry
Childcare and Scholarship Committees
Donation Intake Facility
Ebay Sales

If you have a talent that would help further our mission, please let us know and we will see how we can put that talent to work for our ministries.

Should you decide to volunteer with our ministries, we are sure that you will find your volunteer time at the Dorcas Ministries to be enjoyable and rewarding.

Immediate Needs


The Dorcas Shop is in need of volunteers to list and ship items from our eBay inventory and online book sales.

Since the Dorcas Shop extended its shopping hours on Thursday evenings effective February 12th, we need volunteers to work from 4-7:30 p.m. on Thursdays. We also need volunteers to assist with Friday afternoon floor sales from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

We are in the process of accepting bids to demo and up-fit a 2800 square foot suite at Cary Plaza. If you know any contractors or someone with ties to companies or individuals that can assist in these efforts, please contact us.

How To Volunteer


If you wish to volunteer with us, please speak to the Dorcas Thrift Shop Manager or Crisis Ministry Manager. We will provide formal training or have you shadow an experienced volunteer. Your position will be determined based on a number of factors including what duties you wish to perform and the needs at that particular time.
