Effective May 31st, Dorcas financial assistance will also be made available to families who live outside our service area of Cary and Morrisville, but have who have children in Cary and Morrisville schools. This latest outreach effort is consistent with our mission of serving our neighbors in need, helping them get on their feet so that they can continue to thrive in our community and schools.
This expansion will allow us to serve families in portions of Raleigh and Apex adjacent to Cary and Morrisville. For example, Kingswood and Adams elementary schools serve children on the Cary-Raleigh border and Panther Creek High School serves families on the Cary- Apex border. Many of those families identify with Cary as their home community because they go to school, shop and participate in Cary community life.
The news of our latest expansion was received very well by school social workers who praised Dorcas Ministries for our commitment to serving families and helping them get back on their feet. “We really appreciate all Dorcas does to work with families,” exclaimed one local school social worker who works with disabled preschoolers in Wake County.
